Janice Penny currently serves as the Internal Control Framework Lead for Group Finance at Athora, responsible for implementing the Internal Control Framework, including the design of a new risk administration system. Prior to joining Athora in July 2022, Janice Penny had a distinguished career at HSBC spanning nearly 27 years, where roles included Global Head of Operations Control Strategy, leading the implementation of a robust control framework and managing talent and strategic change. As the Global Business Risk and Control Lead for Wealth and Insurance, Janice Penny oversaw a risk team across multiple countries, delivering expertise in vendor risk management and operational oversight. Various previous positions included Senior Vendor Risk & Operational Control Manager and Customer Services Manager, each emphasizing risk assessment, operational due diligence, and compliance within the financial services sector. Janice Penny’s education includes studies at North Devon Technical College.
