Niels Bakker

Niels Bakker is an experienced professional in the field of insurance and risk management, currently serving as the Manager of Insurance and Model Risk Management at Athora Netherlands since February 2021. Niels has held a managerial role in Financial Risk Insurance Risk at VIVAT since July 2014, focusing on second line Insurance Risk and the Actuarial Function. Prior to these positions, Niels was the Afdelingshoofd Actuariaat Strategie at SNSREAAL from January 2012 to July 2014 and the Teamleader Actuarial Reporting Life at REAAL Verzekeringen from January 2001 to December 2011. Niels began the career in the mathematics department at Concordia, where Niels worked from April 1982 to April 1992. Niels received education from the University of Twente and completed secondary education at Het Nieuwe Lyceum Bilthoven.
