In addition, Mette also had a visiting researcher position at Stanford University from 2012 to 2013, where they collaborated with the Khuri-Yakub Ultrasonics Group to further their research on CMUTs.

Mette's earliest experience is from their time as a Student Assistant at Trafitec from 2008 to 2011, where they were responsible for data collection and database management of traffic accidents in Denmark.

Throughout their career, Mette la Cour has gained expertise in customer success, microfabrication, MEMS, microfluidic devices, biophotonics, CMUTs, and traffic accident data management.

Mette Funding la Cour obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in DTU Electrical Engineering and DTU Nanotech from the DTU - Technical University of Denmark during the period from 2011 to 2014. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Physics and Nanotechnology, Nanosystems Engineering from the same institution, spanning from 2006 to 2011.
