Horatio McKenzie has a diverse and extensive work experience in the hospitality industry. Horatio started their career with Kerzner International in 1996 as an Assistant Banquet Manager and worked their way up to various management positions including Assistant Director of F&B, Director of Room Service, Director of Food and Beverage, and finally Senior Director of Food and Beverage. In these roles, they were responsible for managing multiple outlets, generating additional revenues, controlling expenses, and ensuring overall financial success. Horatio then moved to One & Only Ocean Club in 2013 as an Executive Assistant Manager, overseeing Food and Beverage operations for a luxury destination. Finally, they joined Atlantis Bahamas in 2016 as the Executive Director of Human Resources for the Food and Beverage Division, where they handle talent acquisition, labor relations management, compensation administration, training initiatives, and compliance with established policies.
Horatio McKenzie completed a Certificate Program in Executive Leadership at Cornell University from 2019 to 2020. Horatio also participated in a Certificate Program in High Performance Leadership at Cornell University during the same period. Prior to that, from 2010 to 2013, they obtained a Diploma in Food and Beverage Management from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute. In 1987 to 1990, they received a Certified Cook degree in Culinary Arts/Chef Training from the American Culinary Federation Inc. and the Bahamas Hotel Training College. In terms of additional certifications, Horatio completed the Introduction to the SHRM-CP Certification Exam on LinkedIn in 2020. Horatio also obtained a ServSafe Certification in June 2012, a Certified Tips Trainer from Health Communications Inc. in 2011, and a Food and Beverage Management Specialization from the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute in 2006.
