Jan Válek

Jan Válek has a diverse work experience in the data and business intelligence field. Jan currently holds the position of Lead Data Modeler at Atlas Copco. Prior to this, they worked at Ataccama as a Technical Engagement Manager. From 2014 to 2023, they were employed at Currys CoE, where they served as the Business Intelligence & Data Platform Team Lead, overseeing end-to-end DWH&BI delivery and leading a team of designers, developers, and testers. Before that, they worked as a Data Architect / Modeler at Dixons Carphone and as an Analyst at Home Credit International. Jan also has experience as a Consultant at Anywhere s.r.o., where they provided technical consultation, pre-sales activities, and training.

Jan Válek obtained a Master's degree (Ing.) in Informatics and Economics from Prague University of Economics and Business from 2003 to 2008. Jan then attended the University of Maribor in 2008 to study Informatics, although no degree was specified. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained several certifications, including Ataccama ONE v13 Certified Professional: Data Quality & Governance - Foundation Level from Ataccama in 2023, Diploma in Accounting and Business from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in 2014, and Sybase IQ Administrator Professional Certification from Sybase in 2011.
