Laura Gao is an accomplished individual currently serving as an Atlas Fellow at Atlas Fellowship since May 2022, where participation includes a fully-funded 11-day summer program focused on science, philosophy, and future thinking. Previously, Laura gained valuable experience as a quantum software intern at Zapata Computing, Inc. from July 2021 to February 2023, where self-study in quantum mechanics and linear algebra facilitated the attainment of the internship. Additionally, Laura was an innovator at The Knowledge Society from September 2020 to June 2021, engaging in a rigorous program designed to cultivate entrepreneurial skills and innovative mindsets. Earlier, Laura served in the Air Cadet League of Canada as an air cadet from April 2018 to January 2021, earning the Excellence in Fitness Badge and leading the trumpet section of the Reeds and Brass Band. Currently, Laura is pursuing a dual degree in Electrical Engineering and Economics at the Jerome Fisher M&T Program, having graduated from the TOPS Program at Marc Garneau Collegiate Institute in 2023.
