Timothy Bennett is the current Director of Government Programs at ATLAS Space Operations. Timothy has over a decade of experience in space security and defense, most recently serving as Division Chief of Space Control Electronic Warfare at the Space Security and Defense Program from June 2019 to February 2022. In this role, they were responsible for leading a team of 12 personnel tasked with developing emerging space protection and defense concepts, including overseeing a $500M revision proposal to the Presidential Budget.
Prior to their work at the Space Security and Defense Program, Bennett served as Division Chief of Futures Space Superiority at the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command from August 2011 to June 2019. In this role, they were responsible for developing conceptual terrestrial and spacecraft system designs, identifying potential gaps within the current operational construct, and developing material and non-material solutions for inclusion into operations. Timothy also provided the Directors of the National Reconnaissance Office, US Space Force, and US Space Command with solutions to complex space-related operational challenges and reported on technical advice related to mission execution.
Bennett's educational career began with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Saint Martin's University. Timothy then attended Officer Candidate School before being commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Army. Bennett later attended the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. In addition to their formal education, Bennett also holds a certification from the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command in Army Senior Space Badge and Analytic Graphics Inc. in Systems Tool Kit - Basic Certification. Timothy also holds a Top Secret / SCI clearance from the United States Department of Defense.
