Dan Copeland

Dan Copeland has held a variety of engineering roles over the last 17 years. In 2003, they began their career as an Engineering Manager at Tagged. Dan then moved to Ning in 2006 as a Lead Application Developer. In 2008, they were hired by Digg as a Development Manager to restructure the development and QA organizations and transition to Agile methodologies. In 2010, they were promoted to VP of Engineering at Empower Campaigns, Inc. In 2012, they became Lead Developer at Getaround, where they led the integration effort for the first in-house electronics package. In 2013, they joined Braintree as Group Engineering Manager for Core Payments, and built the v. zero sdk and corresponding tokenization APIs. In 2017, they became Development Manager at Shopify, where they led a team building a universal standards-based authentication service. In 2019, they were promoted to Director of Engineering at Hubba, where they were responsible for all aspects of building, delivering, and operating the systems powering Hubba's two-sided wholesale marketplace. In 2021, they joined Jobber as Director of Software Engineering for Fintech, where they led the Fintech group responsible for payment processing, business lending, customer-side financing, and on-demand jobsite insurance. Finally, in 2022, they were promoted to Senior Engineering Manager and Head of Payments at AtoB.

Dan Copeland obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from Pomona College between 1994 and 1998.
