Tyler Powell

Sr. Manager, Program Management at Atomica

Tyler Powell has an extensive work experience in various industries. Tyler started their career in 2004 as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Washington, where they designed and tested a multi-spectral imaging system. From 2007 to 2008, they worked as an Electrical Engineer at Lockheed Martin Systems Integration, providing technical support and leadership for the production phase of the Airborne Mine Countermeasures (AMCM) Tech Insert console.

In 2008, they joined L3 Technologies as a Systems Engineering Manager, where they managed complex system projects related to maritime vessels. Tyler was responsible for system design, proposal generation, cost estimation, and project management. Tyler led a team of seven engineers during the design phase of the 7th generation Dynamic Positioning (DP) system.

From 2014 to 2019, Tyler worked at Diakont as the Director of Energy Services. Tyler led the energy services business unit, overseeing robotic inspections of oil and gas pipelines and storage tanks. Tyler was responsible for managing sales, field service, data analysis, and technology development teams. Tyler interacted directly with customers and the board of directors to ensure the business unit exceeded expectations.

In 2019, Tyler joined Leidos as a Project Manager for Product Development. Tyler held this role until 2021, managing product development projects and overseeing their successful execution.

Currently, Tyler is working at Atomica (formerly IMT) as a Sr. Manager of Program Management, a position they started in March 2021.

Tyler Powell obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering Physics from the University of Colorado Boulder between 2000 and 2004. Tyler then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Washington from 2004 to 2006. In addition to their formal education, Tyler Powell obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in April 2017.
