Ish Dhawan, Ph.D., PMP

Ish Dhawan, Ph.D., PMP has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Ish began their career at Maxygen in 2001 as a Scientist (I) before moving to Codexis, Inc. in 2002. At Codexis, Ish held various positions including Scientist (II, III, and Sr.) where they led projects such as developing combinatorial libraries and collaborating with companies like Merck and Cargill. In 2009, they became the Associate Director - R&D Program Management at Codexis, where they managed programs across multiple sites and oversaw large-scale development and manufacturing of biological molecules and APIs.

After their time at Codexis, Ish joined DuPont Pioneer in 2012 as the Program Manager-Discovery/Enabling Program Management Lead, responsible for managing the discovery/enabling portfolio and providing a comprehensive program view to executive management.

Currently, Ish is Vice President Program Management at Atreca, Inc. since February 2020. Prior to this role, they served as the Director, Program Management at Atreca from August 2016. In these roles, Ish has utilized their expertise in program management to lead and oversee various strategic initiatives.

Ish Dhawan, Ph.D., PMP, has a strong educational background in chemistry. Ish obtained their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Chemistry from the University of Rajasthan, where they studied from 1984 to 1987. Ish then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and completed their studies from 1987 to 1989. Building upon their master's degree, Dhawan went on to earn their Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Arizona, where they conducted research from 1990 to 1995.

In addition to their academic achievements, Dhawan also holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Ish obtained this certification from the PMI - San Francisco Bay Area Chapter in September 2015, highlighting their expertise in project management.
