Justin Rectenwald

Scientist II - Assay Development at Atsena Therapeutics

Justin Rectenwald has been working in the scientific field since 2012. Justin began their career at Penn State University as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in 2012 and 2013, working on projects involving Lipoyl Synthase and Streptomyces Bacteria and their Phosphonate Natural Products. In 2014, they worked as a Carbide Process Development Intern at Kennametal, where they worked on a Green Machining project and an Injection Molding project. In 2015, they began their PhD Candidate role at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where they completed the biophysics track and the Molecular and Cellular Biophysics Program. In 2020, they began working as a Scientist I at KBI Biopharma. In 2021, they began working as a Scientist I at Taysha Gene Therapies, where they are a subject matter expert for UHPLC methods, helps design and outfit analytical laboratories, and is the analytical representative for program projects necessary for commercialization. Justin Rectenwald is currently employed as a Scientist - Assay Development at Atsena Therapeutics.

Justin Rectenwald attended Derry Area High School from 2006 to 2010. Justin then went on to obtain a Bachelor's of Science in Chemistry from Pennsylvania State University from 2010 to 2014. Justin is currently attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where they are pursuing a degree in Biochemistry and Biophysics, Molecular and Cellular Biophysics Program.
