Jayne Wear has a diverse work experience across various industries and roles. Jayne started their career as a Senior Research Associate at Optima Consulting, where they worked on projects related to business case development and restructuring of distribution networks. Jayne then joined Arthur Andersen Business Consulting as a Strategy Consultant, where they were involved in projects related to border service delivery and strategic sourcing for a pharmaceutical manufacturer.
After that, Jayne worked as a Senior Consultant at Corporate Value Associates, where they played a key role in strategic customer segmentation for a UK bank and the development of a tiered distribution strategy for a global automotive manufacturer. Jayne later joined Fonterra as a Strategy Consultant on a contract basis, where they developed an Annual Planning Cycle blueprint for corporate planning.
Moving forward, Jayne worked at Ernst & Young as a Senior Manager in Corporate Finance, providing strategic consulting advice to SME businesses and leading the strategic review of a privately-owned construction, property, and infrastructure group.
In 2007, Jayne founded and became the director of WorldWear, a multi-channel fashion retailer specializing in UK and European high street fashion labels and accessories. Jayne formulated the business strategy, negotiated with global brands, and successfully launched the retail operation in New Zealand and a wholesale network of stores in Australia.
Currently, Jayne is working at Auckland Airport, where they hold multiple roles. As the Head of Commercial Products & Transport, they are responsible for the ground transport strategy, customer experience, and commercial product development. Jayne also leads the airport's online and off-airport duty and tax-free retail propositions. Previously, they served as the Head of Omnichannel, overseeing the airport's omnichannel strategy, online shopping experience, and omnichannel platform as the Chief Product Owner. Before that, they worked as an eCommerce Manager at the same company.

Jayne Wear completed their Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree with a focus on Law and History at the University of Otago from 1990 to 1994. Jayne then pursued further legal education at the University of Canterbury, earning an LLB degree in Law in 1995. Additionally, Jayne obtained Admission as a Barrister & Solicitor from the Institute of Professional Legal Studies, New Zealand, in the same year. In 2000, they attended the London Business School for Corporate Finance Executive Education.
