Rachel Freund

Rachel Freund is currently the Chief Financial Officer at AUDITORIUM THEATRE OF ROOSEVELT UNIVERSITY INC. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Operations and Management at Steppenwolf Theatre Company from January 2015 to June 2017. In this role, they oversaw the business operations of the company, encompassing finance, IT, human resources, facilities, audience experience, events management, and office management departments. Rachel also led a team of eight direct reports. From October 2005 to December 2014, Rachel served as the Director of Finance at Steppenwolf Theatre Company. In this role, they were responsible for financial reporting and compliance (NFP), accounting management, grant reporting, budgeting, audit management, cash management, IT oversight, and audit and finance committee liaison. Rachel has extensive experience with accounting software implementation, endowments, and capital campaigns.

Rachel Freund has a Master of Arts Management from Columbia College Chicago and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Christian Brothers University. Rachel is also certified as a Registered Certified Public Accountant from the State of Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
