Claire Herdeman

Claire Herdeman has a range of work experience in the field of data engineering and analysis. Claire currently works as a Data Engineer at Augintel, starting in May 2021. Prior to that, they were a Data Science Engineer at Grow Progress from May 2020 to April 2021. Claire also worked as a Data Science Engineer for Bernie Sanders For President from November 2019 to April 2020.

Before their roles in data science, Claire worked as a Campaign Technology Specialist at DigiDems from June 2019 to November 2019, supporting the Take the Majority 2019 coordinated field program. In 2018, they worked as a Research Assistant at the Center for Data Science and Public Policy @ University of Chicago, where they contributed to predicting individuals at risk of recidivating to county jail.

Claire also has experience in teaching and academia, serving as a Teaching Assistant at the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago from September 2018 to June 2019. Claire was also an Analyst Intern at Analyst Institute in the summer of 2018.

In the healthcare sector, Claire worked as a Development Analyst at Surgical Care Affiliates from October 2015 to February 2017, where they led financial modeling and deal execution processes. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Business & Market Intelligence Analyst at the University of Chicago Medicine from June 2015 to September 2015. Claire also worked as a Senior Consultant and Consultant at Navigant, supporting strategic projects for health system clients from July 2012 to May 2015.

Throughout their career, Claire has demonstrated expertise in data analysis, modeling, and strategic planning, using tools such as Python, SQL, and financial modeling software.

Claire Herdeman completed their Master's degree in Computational Analytics and Public Policy from the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago between 2017 and 2019. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics and German Studies from Carnegie Mellon University, where they studied from 2007 to 2011. Claire also attended the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy at some point, although the exact dates and degrees earned are unknown.
