Melissa Polak

Melissa Polak has had an extensive and diverse work experience. Their most recent position was as the VP of Compliance, Risk and Assurance at Aurora Cannabis Inc., where they have been working since December 2021. Prior to this role, Melissa served as the Senior Director of Enterprise Risk and Assurance at Aurora Cannabis Inc. from April 2020 to December 2021. Before joining Aurora Cannabis Inc., Melissa worked as a Senior Manager of Enterprise Risk and Assurance at the same company from April 2019 to April 2020.

Before their time at Aurora Cannabis Inc., Melissa worked at the City of Vancouver as the Strategic Business Relationships from May 2018 to April 2019. Prior to that, they worked at EY as a Senior Manager of Risk Advisory Services from July 2011 to May 2018. Melissa also gained experience as a Management Consultant at Centre for Public Management Inc. from September 2009 to May 2011 and as an Analyst at Public Safety Canada from May 2008 to August 2009.

Melissa's early career consisted of working as a Management Consultant at Goss Gilroy Inc. from August 2004 to April 2008. Throughout their career, Melissa has developed a strong expertise in compliance, risk management, and strategic business relationships.

Melissa Polak holds a Bachelor of Arts, Honours degree in Organizational governance and communication from the University of Ottawa. Melissa has additional certifications including a Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) obtained in 2020 and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) with the William S. Smith Certificate of Honour, obtained in 2014.
