Conroy Shum has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several companies and roles. Conroy started their career as a Tax Attorney at Squar Milner Reehl & Williamson LLP from 1998 to 2000. Conroy then joined Oracle Corporation as a Sr. Licensing Consultant-Team Lead from 2000 to 2003.
Shum's career then shifted towards license compliance and intellectual property protection. Conroy worked at Adobe Systems from 2003 to 2011, holding various leadership positions. As Director of Worldwide License Compliance, they were responsible for designing Adobe's compliance strategy and growing the program globally. Under their leadership, the program expanded from 1 person to approximately 80 staff across 35+ offices globally. Revenue recoveries from compliance, piracy, and sales optimization activities exceeded $1 million during this period.
After leaving Adobe, Shum joined Dolby Laboratories as the Sr. Director of Global Licensing Compliance, where they managed global compliance operations from 2011 to 2018. Conroy later became the President and CEO of Aurora Motors from February 2018 until present.
In addition to their executive roles, Shum served as an Advisory Board Member at Connor Consulting Corp from 2018 to 2020 and at Revulytics, Inc from 2014 to 2019. Conroy also co-founded the Silicon Valley License Compliance Roundtable in 2006.

Conroy Shum attended Diamond Bar High School from 1988 to 1992. After completing high school, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting at the University of Southern California from 1992 to 1995. Following their undergraduate studies, Conroy enrolled in Pepperdine Law from 1995 to 1998 and earned a Juris Doctorate (JD) degree specializing in Law.
