Rainer Verhoeven

Rainer Verhoeven trained as a banker and studying business administration in Dortmund and Amsterdam, Mr. Verhoeven began his career at what is now thyssenkrupp AG. There he initially worked in the corporate headquarters in the areas of finance and accounting. From 2005, Mr. Verhoeven took on various management tasks in connection with the construction of the steelworks in Brazil.

Mr. Verhoeven then worked for thyssenkrupp in the USA and Brazil as Head of Controlling and Head of Finance, respectively, before being appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Brazilian subsidiary in 2012.

Before joining Aurubis, Mr. Verhoeven was Chief Financial Officer at thyssenkrupp Electrical Steel GmbH, a subsidiary in the steel division of the thyssenkrupp Group with around 1,800 employees in Germany, France and India.

Mr. Verhoeven was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Aurubis AG effective January 1, 2018.
