Roland Harings

CEO at Aurubis

Mr. Roland Harings studied mechanical engineering at the RWTH Aachen. After graduating as an engineer in 1989, he began working at Webasto AG, Stockdorf, an international supplier to the automotive industry.

After various tasks and international assignments in the areas of quality, development and key account management at Webasto, he moved to Alcan, an aluminum producer and processor, in 1995 - initially as head of the sales and purchasing department of the engine components division in Nuremberg and from 1998 as responsible for the development of the Automotive division in the aluminum strip area.

After the merger of Alcan and Alusuisse in 2002, Mr. Harings became responsible for Alcan's automotive sales in Europe. From 2005 to 2010 he was General Manager of Novelis' integrated aluminum rolling mill in Sierre/Switzerland. From 2010 to 2014, Mr. Harings was Vice President of Novelis' global automotive business.

Before his appointment to the Aurubis Executive Board, Mr. Harings was CEO/managing director of MKM GmbH, a manufacturer of 280,000 tons of semi-finished copper products with around 1,200 employees in Hettstedt/Saxony-Anhalt. During this time, the company was extensively modernized and successfully sold to KME in 2018.

Mr. Harings was appointed to the Executive Board with effect from May 20, 2019 and as CEO of Aurubis AG from July 1, 2019.
