Anabel Gutierrez

Anabel is originally from San Bernardino, California and is currently in her last year at Fort Lewis College where she is majoring in Chemistry and minoring in Forensic Studies. In her time at Fort Lewis College, Anabel has been very active in undergraduate research and held many internship positions. She has done research on determining age and gender by analyzing fingerprints using GC-MS. Anabel was also an intern with her tribal nation and collaborated with the EPA and USDA to create a plan on how the Tuscarora Nation reservation can have access to clean water. She also shadowed doctors in Zaragoza, Spain to learn about how the hospital applies microbiology into the healthcare system. Her passion for analytical chemistry has her excited to expand her knowledge of the marijuana and hemp industry as well as learn more analytical chemistry techniques.
