Brendan Petersen

Global Head of Projects at Ausenco

Brendan has over 31 years’ experience in the engineering, construction, contract mining and industrial services sectors, and a successful track record of executive leadership and strategic and operational management. He has led the implementation of forward-thinking strategies such as establishing a digital transformation office, women in leadership programs and first nations engagement initiatives.

Brendan joined Ausenco in September of 2020 as Global Head of Projects, committed to continuing to build high-performing teams, supporting a diverse and inclusive workplace, and demonstrating zero-harm leadership, all while delivering successful business outcomes for our clients.

Brendan has had extensive involvement in industry leadership forums advocating for industry along with capacity and capability building initiatives. He has held Board positions with Minerals Council of Australia, Australian Construction Association and the Sustainable Built Environment National Research Centre.

He holds a Bachelor of Engineering, Civil (Honors) from the University of Queensland, and a Master of Business Administration from Deakin University. He is a EngExec, Fellow and Chartered Professional Engineer with Engineers Australia and a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
