Jason Smolensky P.eng

Jason Smolensky P.Eng, MBA, CFA has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Jason is currently the Global Lead for Logistics and Simulation at Ausenco and has held the position of Manager for Data Analytics and Simulation at the same company. In 2016, they founded their own company, Polymathic, where they served as Principal and Founder. Additionally, they have served as an Adjunct Professor at The University of British Columbia from 2018 to 2021.

Prior to their current roles, Jason has held positions at Powerex as a Senior Quantitative Analyst, where they implemented quantitative models and automated workflows to improve efficiency and reduce errors. Jason has also worked as a Consultant at Scalable Analytics and as a Business Development and Quantitative Analyst at Alpha Lake Financial Analytics.

Earlier in their career, Jason served as the General Manager for North America at Heliocentris Energy Solutions AG, where they implemented a direct sales model and spearheaded sales and marketing campaigns. Jason also worked as a Senior Geo-Environmental Engineer at SRK Consulting, where they developed mathematical models for mining and water resource projects and presented to industry and government clients. Jason has also worked as a Landfill Engineer at Sperling Hansen Associates (SHA) and as a Junior Research Geologist at Petroleum Recovery Institute.

Jason Smolensky P.Eng, MBA, CFA obtained a B.A.Sc. in Geological Engineering from Queen's University in 1991. In 1994, they earned an M.Eng. in Contaminant Hydrogeology from The University of British Columbia. In 2004, they completed their MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship from UBC Sauder School of Business. In 2007, they obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst Charterholder (CFA) designation from the CFA Institute.
