Laura Avila

Laura Avila has a diverse work experience, primarily in the education and social work sectors. Laura currently serves as the Director of Operations at Austin Achieve Public Schools. Prior to this role, they worked as a Campus Manager at KIPP Austin Public Schools from 2014 to 2018. Laura also had experience as a Social Work Intern at Community Resource Exchange from 2013 to 2014, a Special Education Teacher at Uplift Education from 2011 to 2012, and as a Director of University Life at Teach For America from 2010 to 2012. Additionally, they served as a Corps Member at Teach For America--Dallas from 2009 to 2011. Overall, they have demonstrated a commitment to education and social work throughout their career.

Laura Avila completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Anthropology at The University of Texas at Austin, from 2006 to 2008. Following this, they pursued their Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) degree with a focus in Social Work and Nonprofit Management at Columbia University, from 2012 to 2014.
