We are an ambitious not-for-profit organisation with an actionable plan to protect and regenerate our forests, working to undo record biodiversity loss caused by clearing and logging for cattle grazing and wood products.

Our work encompasses research, networking with partners and allies, advocacy, policy development, strategy, and communications. 

Our 2030 vision is to protect, restore and enhance Australia’s native forests and woodlands, to safeguard their biodiversity values and carbon stocks. We have a comprehensive plan to work with and support governments, business, academics, first nations communities, NGOs, peak bodies and community leaders to drive change at every level.

At the heart of our plan is a ‘backbone organisation’ of experts and advocates. We are focused on the value of working with partners across industry, leveraging networks to reach the right people for the task.

Our organisation is governed by a Board chaired by Dr Ken Henry and the directors are experienced and well-connected leaders from the public service, the business community and philanthropy.
