Rob Pickering has considerable experience in technology and digital leadership roles. Rob is currently working as the General Manager - Technology/Chief Technology Officer at the Australian Football League since October 2020. Before that, they served as the Chief Technology and Digital Officer at Cbus Super Fund from January 2018 to October 2020. In this role, they led a successful digital transformation and provided leadership to approximately 100 employees across various technology-related functions.

Prior to Cbus Super Fund, Rob was the Head of IT at Open Universities Australia from June 2016 to January 2018. Rob was responsible for transforming digital platforms and executing transformational projects in partnership with senior stakeholders.

Before that, Rob held an interim position as the Head of IT - Delivery and Support at Service Stream from July 2015 to June 2016. Rob provided leadership to a 16-strong IT capability, managed the security response team, and supported infrastructure and application development/support.

Rob has also served as the Chief Technology Officer at Anittel from August 2010 to July 2015, where they led the integration of four acquired businesses and improved client satisfaction and profitability. Additionally, they worked as the IT Manager for Munters from July 2006 to July 2011, both in the Asia-Pacific region and Australia/New Zealand, where they managed IT outcomes, led ERP implementation, and implemented various technology solutions.

Rob's early career includes their role as the Lead Systems Engineer at Aspirence IT from April 2000 to August 2006. Aspirence IT was a prominent IT company in New South Wales, specializing in technology implementations for clients ranging from small to large organizations.

Overall, Rob Pickering has a strong track record of leading digital transformations, developing technology strategies, and delivering successful technology projects across various industries.

Rob Pickering attended James Fallon High School from 1994 to 1999, where they earned their HSC degree. After completing their secondary education, they pursued additional certifications and professional development. In 2012, they obtained the ITIL Foundation certification from ITIL Official Publisher. In 2014, they received the Prince2 Practitioner certification from PRINCE2 Official Publisher and also became a TOGAF 9.1 Practitioner certified by The Open Group. Rob further expanded their knowledge in 2018 by completing the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) program offered by ISACA. Additionally, they successfully completed the Company Directors Course and obtained a certificate from the Australian Institute of Company Directors in July 2018. Most recently, in 2021, Rob attended INSEAD and earned a Certificate in Global Management with a focus on Digital Transformation.
