Job description

We are looking for a driven Director of Corporate IT & Security responsible for overseeing all aspects of our information technology security infrastructure, policies, and procedures. This role will play a critical part in protecting our organization from cyber threats, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and standards, and fostering a culture of security awareness among our employees.

A key element of this role is working with executive management to determine acceptable levels of risk for the organization and proactively working with business units and ecosystem partners to ensure our security practices address IT security risks that are deemed not acceptable.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Oversee department budget and capital expenditures, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives
  • Manage the acquisition and deployment of new technologies and services, including vendor evaluation, contract negotiation, and project management
  • Supervise IT Managed Services Providers (MSP) and other contractors/vendors, ensuring alignment with our standards and requirements
  • Proactively manage existing IT infrastructure, minimizing risks associated with End of Life technologies and developing annual technology refresh plans
  • Develop and maintain procedures and guidelines for end-users and IT staff, ensuring efficient resolution of issues and robust disaster recovery plans
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify potential security weaknesses and develop mitigation plans
  • Monitor and analyze security incidents and breaches, responding promptly to contain and mitigate the impact, while ensuring proper documentation and reporting
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits, regulatory compliance assessments, and security-related inquiries
  • Stay abreast of emerging threats, trends, and technologies in the cybersecurity landscape, and recommend proactive measures to enhance the organization's security posture
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, legal, compliance, and executive leadership, to align security objectives with business goals and objectives

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) preferred
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in a mid-senior leadership role within IT security, with a track record of developing and implementing successful security strategies and initiatives
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, protocols, technologies, and best practices, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS). Strongly desired, but not required - Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) or other similar credentials
  • Experience with managed security service providers; (contract and vendor negotiations)
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate with global teams, and deliver results on time and within budget
  • Strong executive engagement and relationship-building skills, fostering collaboration across the organization
