Spandana Vemulapalli has been working in the field of computer vision and data science since 2014. In 2014, they began working as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Computational Intelligence and Bio-Identification Laboratory-UMKC, where they were sponsored by a security system supplier company called EyeVerify Inc. During this role, they recruited 500 study participants for the real-world biometric data collection using Iphone, OPPO, and Samsung Note 4 smart phones. Spandana also assisted the Principal Investigator in preparing the documents for IRB submissions, including review of consent forms. Additionally, they contributed to a project involved in analysing posturographic data from force plates, which concluded that this can be a more efficient and non-invasive technique for detecting deceit. In 2016, they began working as a Research Scientist at ZOLOZ. In 2022, they began working as a Sr.Computer Vision Data Scientist at AuthenticID.

Spandana Vemulapalli completed a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering at the Manipal Institute of Technology from 2010 to 2014. Spandana then went on to obtain a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Missouri-Kansas City between 2014 and 2016. In May of 2020, Spandana Vemulapalli obtained two certifications from Coursera, titled "Security and Privacy for Big Data - Part 1" and "Security and Privacy for Big Data - Part 2".
