JJ Ortiz has over 18 years of experience in graphic and web design, software development, product management, software mapping, quality assurance testing, event management, marketing, and desktop publishing. From 2002 to 2003, Ortiz worked as a Freelance Graphic and Web Designer, creating logos, websites, business cards, pamphlets, banners, icons, video editing, instructional cartoons, animation, photo editing, and consulting. In 2003, Ortiz took a role as a Desktop Publisher with the East Side Union High School District. From 2007 to 2008, Ortiz worked as a Restaurant Manager and Graphic Designer at Campanella Restaurant, designing and maintaining the website and maintaining a clean establishment. From 2008 to 2012, Ortiz worked as a Marketing and Graphic Designer at TigerLogic Corporation, designing the web presence and producing instructional and commercial videos. From 2012 to 2014, Ortiz worked as an Event Manager and Youth Coach at Games2U, managing the delivery, setup, operation, and load-in of electronic entertainment equipment events. From 2014 to 2016, Ortiz worked as a Software Map Designer and Technician and Instructional Video Producer at Cruise Automation, designing specialized maps for autonomous vehicles and developing and delivering training programs. From 2018 to 2020, Ortiz worked as a Product Manager, Software Developer, and Graphic Designer at AutoX.ai, developing and testing software maps and aligning mapping team development initiatives to evolving project requirements. Most recently, Ortiz has been working as a Sensory Discrimination Tester at Impossible Foods, testing food products to identify attributes and differences between products and providing consistent, accurate feedback on food product experiences.

JJ Ortiz attended Mt. Pleasant High School from 1999 to 2002, where they earned a High School Diploma. JJ then attended UC Berkeley Extension from 2003 to 2004. Finally, they attended San Jose State University from 2007 to 2012, where they earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design Studies.
