Janaka Kumarasinghe

Janaka Kumarasinghe has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Janaka is currently the Chief Operating Officer at 1 Billion Tech since September 2020. Prior to that, they held the position of Executive Director at Kent Ridge (Pvt.) Ltd. from January 2017. Janaka also served as the Director HR Services at the same company from September 2008 to December 2016. Janaka was a Senior Visiting Lecturer at the University of Moratuwa, teaching HRM courses from June 2008 to September 2020. Janaka has also worked as a Non-Executive Director at Vallibel Finance since February 2019 and as the Chief People Officer at Auxenta (Pvt.) Ltd from September 2019 to September 2020. Janaka's earlier experiences include roles such as Director HRM/Country Group HR Manager at IUCN from November 2004 to July 2007, President (Honorary) at Institute of Personnel Management Sri Lanka (IPM) from August 2002 to July 2004, and President (Honorary) at Asia Pacific Federation of Human Resource Management from 2003 to 2004. Prior to these roles, they served as the Head of HR/General Manager Human Resource at Suntel Ltd from 1996 to 2003 and as the Employee Development Manager at Singer Sri Lanka PLC from July 1994 to November 1996.

Janaka Kumarasinghe completed their education at three different institutions. Janaka started their education at Royal College Colombo in 1975 and finished in 1983. Janaka then attended the University of Colombo from 1988 to 1994, where they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a specialization. Lastly, they pursued a Master of Science in Asia-Pacific Human Resource Management at the National University of Singapore from 1999 to 2000.
