Matthew Gutermuth has over 10 years of work experience in software engineering and DevOps roles. Their career started in 2009 as a Programmer/Rapid Prototype Engineer at Emergent Media Center. In 2011, they worked as a Contractor/Intern at SavardSoftware Engineering, LLC, where they created web tools using ASP.net and C#. From 2012 to 2013, they worked as a Programmer/Analyst at MEDITECH, where they maintained custom-coded healthcare information system software. From 2013 to 2014, they worked as a Software Engineer at Carbon Black, where they assisted in the development and maintenance of an industry-leading endpoint security platform. From 2016 to 2017, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Threat Stack, Inc, where they optimized the performance and stability of the Linux monitoring agent. From 2017 to 2018, they worked as a DevOps Engineer at Telmate, where they created and deployed new Chef cookbooks and built and implemented Guacamole. From 2018 to 2019, they worked as a DevOps Engineer at Riviera Partners, where they developed and supported the infrastructure and build pipeline for two different teams with multiple products. From 2019 to 2020, they worked as a Senior Infrastructure Automation Engineer at Chewy. Currently, they are working as the Head of Cloud Platform and Security, DevOps Manager, and Staff DevOps Engineer at Avail.
