Alyssa Black has a wealth of work experience in Human Resources and Administrative Services. Alyssa began their career in 2007 as an Office/Human Resources Manager at Max Performance Hydraulic, where they managed office and warehouse operations to contribute to the increased growth of more than $2.5M a year. In 2010, they volunteered as a Web Marketing Team Member at PAWS, where they updated the website to include creative summaries of animals and photographed animals to create their story. In 2012, they began working at Snohomish County as a Court Appointed Special Advocate/Volunteer Guardian Ad Litem, where they gathered fact-based information about the child, interviewed involved parties, participated in case-related meetings, and reported to the court in the best interest of the child. That same year, they began working at Community Psychiatric Clinic as a Human Resources and Administrative Services Manager, where they earned merited promotions based on strong performance, productivity improvements, and structured implementation of organization policies. In 2016, they became the first Human Resources Manager at Garden Fresh Foods, where they were responsible for staffing, performance management, employee relations, benefits administration, payroll, policy creation, workforce planning, and safety. In 2017, they joined the University of Washington School of Medicine as a Human Resources Manager, where they were effective in managing all aspects of Human Resources, purchasing, legal support, and administration. In 2018, they became a Human Resources Manager at Zymeworks Inc., where they implemented HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy in the Seattle office. Alyssa helped grow the office by more than triple the size from when they joined the team. In 2020, they became a Board Member at Denise Louie Education Center. Currently, they are a Senior Human Resources Manager at Avalyn Pharma Inc., where they are responsible for talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, benefits administration, payroll, policy creation, workforce planning, and safety.

Alyssa Black has obtained a Master of Business Administration - MBA from Western Governors University in the field of Business Administration and Management, General between 2019 and 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) from Western Governors University in the field of Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration, General between 2013 and 2015. Alyssa also obtained an ATA from Edmonds College in the field of Paralegal between 2010 and 2012, and a Business degree from Bellevue College in the field of Business in 2008. In addition, they obtained an OSHA 30 hour Training from OSHA in August 2016, a Project + (Project Management Certificate) from CompTIA in August 2014, and a PHR - Professional in Human Resources certification from HR Certification Institute - HRCI in June 2015.
