John Johnston

Prior to joining the Avanti team, John held the position off Capital Project Manager at Waterton where he managed over $25MM in capital projects and led over 2,000 unit renovations throughout North Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee. His work in real estate and multi-family development is preceded by years working as a Business Recruitment Manager for Wake County where he led business expansion and recruitment efforts, working on deals such as Apple's NC expansion and the Amazon HQ2 project. He also spent time as a lobbyist for the City of Raleigh and UNC System office. John holds an MBA in strategy and operations from Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
