TJ Sutton has over 20 years of experience in the aviation industry. TJ began their career in 1996 as an Aviation Electronics Technician in the US Navy, where they were responsible for maintaining and repairing electronic communications systems and in-flight navigation and detection systems. In 2005, they joined Cessna Aircraft Company as an Avionics Lead and was promoted to Flight Department Avionics Team Lead in 2007. During their time at Cessna, they were responsible for all aircraft in the production process from avionics installation to customer delivery and implemented a pre-flight operational and functional test procedure that resulted in a 42% decrease in flight test avionics squawks. In 2010, they joined Yingling Aviation as an Avionics Lead, where they were responsible for repairs, installations, and modifications on certified single engine aircraft and also gained experience as a parts liaison. From 2012 to 2014, they were an Instructor at Spartan College of Aeronautics & Technology, where they were responsible for instruction of electron physics, basic DC series and parallel, complex series-parallel circuit theory and troubleshooting, A/C theory, electromagnetism and electrical measuring equipment as well as Lead-Acid and NiCad battery maintenance. Since 2014, they have been employed as the Field Service Manager at Avidyne.
