Donal O'Shea

Donal O'Shea has a range of experience in the aviation industry. Donal started their career as an Apprentice Aircraft Engineer at Ryanair in 1999. Donal then worked at CityJet, where they held various roles including Senior Structures and Systems Specialist and Lead Engineer. During this time, they were responsible for supporting an Avro RJ85 fleet and managing repairs and modifications. Donal also played a role in setting up and obtaining approval for CityJet's training school. Donal later joined CAE Parc Aviation as a Continuing Airworthiness Manager and then moved on to Santos Dumont as a Senior Technical Project Manager, where they supervised technical data for over 150 aircraft and led a team. Currently, they are working at Avolon as the Head of Engineering & Asset Management, responsible for overseeing technical asset management for a large fleet of aircraft.

Donal O'Shea completed an Honours Degree (BEng) in Aeronautical Engineering at Kingston University from 2008 to 2010. From 2014 to 2014, they obtained a Certificate in Business and Technical Aircraft Management (HETAC Level 7) from the Institute of Technology, Carlow. Donal also holds EASA Part 66, B1, B2, and C Maintenance Engineer's Licenses from EASA & IAA, which they obtained from 2003 to 2006. Prior to that, they completed an apprenticeship in Aircraft Engineering at Technological University Dublin from 1999 to 2003.
