Mesfin Gonit, DVM, PhD, has a diverse work experience in the field of analytical sciences and technology, with a focus on vaccine products, biologics, lentiviral vectors, and CAR-T cell therapy. Mesfin has held positions at AVROBIO as a Senior Director and Director, where they led the analytical sciences and technology team. Prior to that, they worked at Kite Pharma as a Research Scientist, specializing in analytical method development and qualification for viral vector and T cell therapy. Mesfin also worked at Emergent BioSolutions as a Senior Scientist, responsible for developing molecular and immunoassays for vaccine products. Mesfin Gonit completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Toledo College of Medicine, from 2006 to 2011. Before that, they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Tropical Animal Disease Control from the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Antwerp in 2004. Mesfin'searlier education includes a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Addis Ababa University.
