Benjamin Campbell has a long and varied work experience. In 2021, they began working at Aware as a Data Science Team Lead, leading a team of 6 direct reports while also contributing as an individual contributor. Benjamin was Delivery Manager for 5 releases over the course of 6 months, and collaborated with Product to update the modeling roadmap and ensure new releases fulfilled requirements. Prior to this, from 2019 to 2021, they were a Data Scientist at CoverMyMeds, where they owned, discovered, and developed 4 data science services developed in Python and SQL. Benjamin also coordinated across verticals to integrate explainable machine learning strategies, and conducted regular training workshops on R and data science concepts. From 2014 to 2019, they were a Visiting Fellow and Senior Fellow, Program in Statistics and Methodology at The Ohio State University. As a Visiting Fellow, they served as an advisor on non-academic careers for the American Political Science Association, and was a co-PI researching social aspects of substance use disorder. As a Senior Fellow, they were an in-house statistical consultant providing guidance on a variety of projects employing quantitative analysis. Benjamin also hosted a data science workshop series with lectures on statistical computing in R, programming in Python, data manipulation using the Tidyverse, Spatial Analysis in R, and accessing Twitter data through R. Finally, from 2010 to 2014, they were a Graduate Research Associate and University Fellow, Doctoral Student in Political Science at Southern Illinois University. Benjamin was also an Undergraduate Research Assistant, a member of the Saluki Debate Team, and a Saluki Peer Mentor.

Benjamin Campbell began their educational journey at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Summa Cum Laude, Honors Degree in Political Science in 2014. Benjamin then pursued a Master of Arts - MA in Political Science and Government at The Ohio State University from 2014-2016. In 2015, they obtained an Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) Certificate from the University of Michigan in Bayesian Modeling for the Social Sciences. Finally, they completed a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Political Science and Government from The Ohio State University in 2019.
