Senior Manager, External Affairs at Aware Super

Sara Bradford has a diverse work experience spanning over 25 years. Sara'smost recent role was as a Queensland Committee Member at Women in Super starting in March 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Manager of External Affairs at Aware Super from August 2022. In this role, they provided strategic communications counsel to the Corporate Development and Investment Teams.

From November 2020 to August 2022, Sara was a Manager of Marketing and External Communication at QIC. Sara led a high-performing team and was responsible for various corporate communications requirements. Before that, from April 2019 to November 2020, they held the role of Manager of Communications and Content at QIC. In this position, they focused on creating and implementing strategic content and marketing communications to strengthen the trust between QIC and its institutional investor clients.

Between September 2017 and February 2018, Sara served as the Head of Communications and Investor Relations at Retail Food Group. Sara further gained experience at IAG as a Manager of Group Corporate Affairs and Communications from September 2014 to September 2017, where they led initiatives in stakeholder engagement and strategic content. Prior to that, they worked as a Corporate Communications Advisor for the Direct Insurance business unit at IAG from September 2012 to September 2014.

During their tenure at PwC Australia from September 2011 to September 2012, Sara held the position of Communications Manager for Clients and Markets. Sara provided communications and marketing support across various lines of service.

Sara started their career in communications as the Head of Freedom to Create at Chandler Corporation from August 2006 to December 2010. Sara was responsible for the global philanthropy arm, Freedom to Create, which invested in creative entrepreneurship in developing communities. Prior to that, they worked as a Communications Executive at Exclusive Analysis from July 2005 to June 2006, where they devised the firm's communications and marketing strategy.

Sara began their professional journey as a Senior Legal Correspondent at South China Morning Post from January 2001 to August 2004. Earlier in their career, Sara was a Bureau Chief at The Courier Mail from August 1997 to January 2001, where they covered various topics and was responsible for training and organizing a team of six as a senior crime reporter.

Throughout their career, Sara has gained extensive experience in strategic communications, corporate affairs, marketing, and brand management in industries such as finance, insurance, professional services, social investment, and media.

Sara Bradford completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and Journalism from The University of Queensland. Following that, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Global Politics from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) during the academic year of 2004-2005.
