Karina Maas

Karina Maas has a diverse work experience in legal and corporate roles. Karina is currently the Vice President, Legal at Ascend Wellness Holdings since May 2023. Prior to this, they worked as an Associate at Fried Frank from June 2021 to May 2023, where they specialized in securities, capital markets, and corporate governance. Karina also gained experience as an Associate at Shearman & Sterling LLP from December 2020 to June 2021. Karina has provided legal counsel for start-ups and early-stage companies as an Associate at the Law Offices of Howard J. Finkelstein from August 2020 to November 2020. Karina has also held editorial and administrative roles at Plain Language Media, Brooklyn Law Incubator & Policy Innovative Ventures Clinic, Brand Central LLC, Random House, and the New York State Unified Court System. Additionally, Karina completed the Skadden Scholar program in partnership with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP & Affiliates and The City College of New York, focusing on diversity and academic excellence.

Karina Maas earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from Brooklyn Law School in 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a B.A. in Pre-Law with a minor in Studio Art, cum laude, from The City College of New York in 2016. Karina'shigh school education was completed at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School, where they received the Chancellor's Endorsed Diploma for the Arts - Advanced Designation: Visual Arts in 2010. Karina Maas also holds certifications for New York State Bar Admission, California State Bar Admission, and New Mexico State Bar Admission.
