Marci joined Axcelis Technologies in 2021 as a Principal Mechanical Engineer.
Before that, from 2016 to 2021, they worked at QinetiQ US. During their time there, they served as a Configuration Management Manager, responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing management activities to control and verify hardware and software configuration. Marci also developed Configuration Management processes to comply with internal and external customer requirements. Additionally, they held the role of Principal Mechanical Engineer, where they facilitated electromechanical design, layout, and modeling of electro-mechanical assemblies. Marci also supported the production of military and commercial maritime products.
Prior to QinetiQ US, Marci worked at GE Aviation from 2001 to 2016. Marci held various positions, including Staff Engineer and Lead Engineer, in the Military Inlet & Exhaust Systems department. In these roles, they managed NPI development programs, led improvement programs, and conducted analysis for root cause investigations. Marci also designed lube system components, managed NPI programs, and utilized design practices and templates.
Before GE Aviation, Marci was a Product Design Engineer at Delphi Automotive Systems from 1999 to 2001. In this role, they designed automotive wheel spindle bearings and their components and authored revisions to internal specifications.
Marci began their career at General Motors in 1995 as a Metrology Engineer. During their time there, they calibrated measurement equipment, developed new measurement techniques, performed correlation studies with suppliers, and supervised plant metrology hourly personnel temporarily.

Marci Omlor Cunningham holds a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, which they completed in 2000. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Toledo in 1995. Currently, Marci is in progress of completing a Robotics Specialization program offered by Coursera and the University of Pennsylvania, involving six courses. In terms of additional certifications, they have a US Government Secret Clearance obtained in May 2007, which confirms their eligibility for accessing classified information based on a National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check conducted in May 2007. Furthermore, they are also Six Sigma Green Belt certified, obtained in November 2002.
