Rodrigo Castaldo is a Principal Power Electronics Engineer at Axiom Space since May 2022, where responsibilities include the design, development, and testing of complex radiation-hardened electronic boards for the Artemis program's next-generation spacesuit. Previously, as a Senior Staff Avionics Power Electronics Engineer at Axiom Space, Rodrigo focused on power electronics for the first commercial space station, overseeing the development of systems that interface with the International Space Station. Prior to Axiom Space, Rodrigo held various engineering management and leadership roles at Whirlpool Corporation, including Engineering Manager for Hardware Advanced Development and Global Power Supply Team Lead, where impactful contributions were made to electronics strategy and development. Earlier experience includes serving as Lead Hardware Engineer at Allegion, PLC. Rodrigo holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the State University of Santa Catarina in Brazil.
