Sumit Madan

Sumit Madan is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Axis Max Life Insurance Limited, leading one of India’s fastest-growing life insurers with over 25,000 employees and 130,000 agents since February 2024. In this role, Sumit is responsible for developing and executing distribution strategies, driving revenue growth and profitability, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Prior to this, Sumit held significant positions at IDFC FIRST Bank, AU SMALL FINANCE BANK, and Citi, where responsibilities included leading retail liabilities, branch banking, and managing large banking operations across various regions. Sumit's career in the banking and insurance sectors spans over two decades, beginning with a strong foundation in sales and branch management. Sumit holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Delhi University.
