Giulia Vestri

Giulia Vestri joined Azafaros as Head of Business Development in 2022, coming from a scientific and strategic development background within the pharmaceutical industry. Her recent positions include Global Lead at Sobi in 2020, where she was responsible for the business strategy of Gamifant™ as well as for the label extension of this ultra-rare disease drug. Prior to this she spent four years working as a Global Strategic Lead, advising, among others, the CEO at Menarini Group. Other positions held by Giulia have included managing an international portfolio at Biogen. At MSD, she was responsible for the evaluation of new business opportunities in Italy as well as for the commercial management of the diabetes portfolio.

In addition to her vast knowledge of business development, Giulia also has a background in biology, with a focus on researching revolutionary mechanisms of action against cancer. She received her PhD in immunology from the Tor Vergata University of Rome and the Catholic Medical School of Rome, before later adding to her qualifications an executive MBA in 2021 at the SDA Bocconi School of Management in Italy.
