Debraj Bhattacharya

Debraj Bhattacharya serves as a Manager at Azim Premji University in Bangalore since June 2021, contributing to the Centre for Local Democracy by promoting local democracy in India through research initiatives, educational courses, and NGO support. Simultaneously, Debraj has held the position of Manager at SIGMA Foundation since January 2018 and previously worked as a Fellow at Riddhi Foundation from July 2016 to April 2018. Earlier experience includes a role as Programme Coordinator at the Institute of Social Sciences from June 2009 to June 2016, where responsibilities encompassed research, project management, and donor relations. Between 2006 and 2009, Debraj functioned as a Research Coordinator for the P & RD of GoWB, focusing on research and management. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Master’s degree in History from Presidency College and Calcutta University.
