Sonia Williams was named Executive Vice President – Administration, General Counsel and Secretary of Babcock Power Inc. (“BPI”) in July 2021. Ms. Williams previously held the role of Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Secretary of BPI. Ms. Williams joined the Babcock Power organization in August 2017 as Vice President, General Counsel and Assistant Secretary of Vogt Power International Inc., a BPI subsidiary and an eminent global supplier of heat recovery steam generators and related services. Ms. Williams previously worked for Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. (“MPA”) and its affiliates where she held various leadership positions including as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of a wind turbine service company in Newport Beach, CA and as Associate General Counsel and Chief Communications Officer of MPA in Lake Mary, FL. Prior to becoming in-house counsel, Ms. Williams practiced litigation with Steptoe & Johnson LLP in Los Angeles, CA and later with Kean Miller LLP in New Orleans, LA. Ms. Williams has served as a Judicial Clerk for the Nevada Supreme Court and as a Judicial Clerk for the Seventh Judicial District Court of Nevada. Ms. Williams holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from California State University, Fullerton and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law.
