Aron Drayer

Head of Marketing at Backbone

Aron Drayer has a diverse work experience in the gaming industry spanning over multiple companies and roles. Aron began their career at Virgin Interactive Entertainment as an Associate Producer before being promoted to Producer. At Virgin, they managed relationships with licensors and oversaw multiple external development teams. Aron then joined Radical Entertainment as a Producer, leading a team of artists, programmers, and designers for ESPN NBA Tonight. After that, they worked at NAMCO Hometek as a Producer, where they led the development of in-game cinematics for Pac-Man World.

In 1999, Aron co-founded Interactive Republic Corp, where they served as an Executive Producer. Aron managed publisher relations, deal negotiations, budgeting, game design, production scheduling, and marketing. Aron secured a development deal with Activision for Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer, which was eventually moved and shipped by Treyarch. Later, they joined Atari as a Senior Producer and managed all aspects of external development, including licensing, development, and game design, for various titles.

Aron then joined Vivendi Universal Games as an Executive Producer, where they managed a team and had top-line responsibilities for game production, scheduling, license management, and future sku planning. Aron then moved to Activision as a Senior Producer and served as the external development lead for DJ Hero.

In 2013, Aron joined ASTRO Gaming as the Director of Marketing and later became the Vice President of Marketing. In these roles, they led the ASTRO brand and marketing team, working with numerous esports teams and leagues, as well as gaming IPs like Call of Duty, Halo, and League of Legends. Their responsibilities included esports, content, influencer, product partnerships, lifestyle partnerships, events, PR, and community/social.

Most recently, Aron has worked at Logitech G as the Head of Marketing - Partnerships, Lifestyle & Events. Aron is currently the Head of Marketing at Backbone.

Aron Drayer attended Occidental College from 1990 to 1994, where they pursued a degree in English and Comp Lit Studies. No specific field of study is mentioned.
