In 2008, they became the National Manager at Pantaloons Retail, where they were responsible for increasing footfall and bill size. From 2009 to 2014, Jay worked as AGM Marketing at Idea Cellular Ltd, focusing on brand growth and customer loyalty. Jay then held positions at Lodha Group, Bennett Coleman and Co. Ltd.
