Areije al Shakar

Areije Al Shakar has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Areije is currently the Director & Fund Manager at Al Waha Venture Capital Fund of Funds since April 2018. In 2019, they were a Kauffman Fellow Class 24 at Kauffman Fellows. From 2010 to 2022, they held multiple roles at Bahrain Development Bank, including Senior Vice President Head Of Innovation and Senior Vice President, Head of Development Services Division. Areije also worked at THE ARK as an Ambassador starting from March 2021. Areije Al Shakar has previous experience at Lehman Brothers, BNP Paribas, Citibank, and Investcorp in various roles.

Areije Al Shakar holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Public Policy and Management from SOAS University of London, which they attained from 2012 to 2014. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance at Concordia University from 1999 to 2002. Areije Al Shakar's education history also includes a High-School Diploma from Bahrain School, obtained from 1995 to 1999. In addition to their academic qualifications, they have obtained various certifications, including the Kauffman Fellowship from Kauffman Fellows in 2022, the Conscious Investor Fellowship from startAD, VentureSouq, and KAUST in 2020, and the Venture Capital Executive Program from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business in 2018.
