Shantanu Agarwal

Shantanu Agarwal has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Shantanu is currently working as a Sr AI Engineer at Balbix since February 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Machine Learning Engineer (Intern) at Balbix from May 2022 to August 2022, where they implemented an NLP deep learning model for mapping cybersecurity vulnerability text to a set of Weakness categories.

Before joining Balbix, Shantanu worked at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi as a Project Scientist from October 2020 to July 2021. During this time, they crowdsourced a novel task-oriented dialog dataset and implemented dataset baselines using TF-IDF, MemN2N, and GPT2. Shantanu also proposed a retrieval-based generative model.

Shantanu also worked as a Research Assistant at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi from March 2020 to October 2020.

Prior to their work at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, Shantanu worked at Goldman Sachs as an Associate Jr Researcher from January 2020 to February 2020 and as a Senior Analyst from June 2017 to December 2019.

Shantanu started their professional career as a Software Trainee at Samsung R&D Institute India in 2016.

Additionally, Shantanu worked as a Summer Intern at iLenze in 2015. During this internship, they implemented object detection and region proposal generation using deep learning and developed enhancements for Caffe. Shantanu also implemented Image Retrieval for high dimensional non-sparse vectors using product quantization.

Shantanu Agarwal has a diverse education history. Shantanu completed their Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Computing at the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati from 2013 to 2017. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 2021 to 2022. Prior to their higher education, they attended Maheshwari Public School for their high school education from 2001 to 2013.

In addition to their formal education, Shantanu Agarwal also obtained two certifications. In 2015, they received a certification in Machine Learning from Coursera. In 2020, they obtained another certification, namely the Deep Learning Specialization, also from Coursera.
