Shan He

Shan Shan is a seasoned engineering leader with extensive experience in geospatial analytics and data visualization. Currently serving as Senior Director of Engineering at Foursquare since June 2021, Shan has previously co-founded Unfolded and held the role of Chief Product Officer, focusing on building geospatial analytic platforms using open-source libraries. At Uber, Shan led the development of kepler.gl, an open-source geospatial visualization application, and has held various engineering positions concentrating on data visualization. Research roles were held at MIT Senseable City Lab, MIT Mobile Experience Lab, and MIT Clean Energy City Lab. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Architecture Studies from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor of Architecture from Tsinghua University.
