Vinod Balakrishnan

Vinod Balakrishnan has a wealth of work experience spanning from 2000 to 2021. Starting as a Software Engineer at Intel in 2000, they then moved to Openwave System Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer in 2004. Vinod then moved to Openwave System Inc. again in 2005, this time as a Senior Software Engineer. In 2007, they moved to Zing as a Senior Software Engineer, and then to Dell as a Senior Software Engineer. In 2009, they joined Yahoo as a Senior Principal Software Engineer, developing a Query Intent Understanding system for Yahoo's web search. Vinod then moved to Verizon Media in 2019 as a Director Of Engineering, leading the Private Search experiences across web, extension, and Yahoo OneSearch app (iOS/Android). Currently, they are the Director Engineering at Balbix.

Vinod Balakrishnan attended the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur from 1993 to 1997, where they earned a Bachelor of Technology - BTech in Computer Science and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering. Vinod then attended the University of Virginia from 1998 to 2000, where they earned a Master's degree in Computer Science.
