Theresa Smith

Theresa Smith, PhD, is a Research Scientist in Molecular and Cell Biology at Balchem Corporation since January 2023. Previously, Theresa served as a Graduate Research Assistant at Brigham Young University from September 2016 to January 2023, leading biochemical research projects focused on the interactions between eukaryotic chaperones and nonstructural proteins related to SARS-CoV-2. Additionally, Theresa was a Summer Fellow at the BYU Simmons Center for Cancer Research in 2020, engaging in research on cancer-related signaling pathways. Earlier experience includes working as a Chemistry Tutor at Brigham Young University Hawaii from September 2014 to June 2016, refining skills in assisting students with general chemistry topics. Theresa holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry from Brigham Young University and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biochemistry from Brigham Young University–Hawaii.
